Medical and scientific studies have proved that red wine contains a large amount of antioxidants with beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system preventing heart diseases: Resveratrol.
This substance is present in red wines normally in the dosage of 2-3 milligrams per litre, in the dried grape wines Recioto and Amarone, it has average concentrations of 6 milligrams per litre with peaks as high as 10 milligrams per litre. This is mainly due to a new synthesis of grapes after picking and to the concentration that this antioxidant substance reaches after drying, with higher quality results when natural systems are used rather than artificial or conditioned ones. | |
